Are you one of THOSE Hatfield's?

Can I hire you to speak to our group?

Yes. Contact me and lets chat!

What *exactly do you do?

That question comes up a bit - as I don't fit in the tiny little box other people try to put me in. We are all more that what we do for a living (and I love what I do!) but let's face it . . . our passions make us dynamic and fuel our success in everything we do.

Here's a run down on what I like to do ::

Art : I love art and have since I put my fingers in bright primary colors and made my own pitch black finger painting masterpiece. I still love to paint but rarely have time to these days. Since getting married in '10 and starting Experience Farm with my husband Brandon Pierce, my focus has been on decorating our home, traveling and building our family company. I have been very lucky to support other artists over the years and have been blessed to discover a community of incredibly talented people.

Furniture : Furniture is another passion of mine that I discovered thanks to my Mother teaching me how to refinish a mahogany pineapple bed when I was 12. I consider myself a rescuer of furniture and vintage glass ware and above all a DIY nut. I am so proud of the furniture I have designed and built too! Lowes Home Improvement is my favorite store in the world next to Goodwill and Habitat Restore. One day when I grow up, I will have my own line of eco responsible furniture.

Food : I love to cook and share what I've made. Breakfast in bed on Sunday is my favorite meal. Stick around and you will learn that I play with my food and am a lover of all things bacon and good food in general. I am not a picky eater, even though for the most part I eat like a vegetarian. (be warned that bacon is the gateway meat) I'm not a big soda drinker, but give me a Boylan's under a shade tree any day!

Cocktails : Many people who know me well - know that I have been working on a recipe book for years. Yes I am still working on it and can't wait to publish it soon (on my 2012 list). One of my favorite things to do is host a martini mixer with friends and have each person bring an ingredient to taste test my recipes! But if you see me out and want to buy me a cocktail . . . hands down my favorite is a very dirty Vodka/Gin (depends on my mood) martini with 3 olives. *cheers!

Handmade : Since I can remember I have always had a crafty project going. From handmade couches to pillows and crocheted blankets, scarves and hats - I love handmade items.

Travel : I consider my self lucky to have traveled as much as I did growing up and continue to explore the world every chance I get. Another thing to add to my "when I grow up" list . . . travel writer. Who in their right mind would turn down the chance to travel to exotic locations and attend fabulous parties and write about it. Not this girl!

Reading : Okay, I admit it . . . I am a bibliophile. At one time I had close to 3500 books. . . that is until I had to move them by myself. Currently, my husband and I are building our family library and are having a great time doing it.

Community : If you read my "about me" section you will see that I have my hand in a lot of community related activities and event planning as well as supporting locally owned businesses. If you live in the Triad and are interested in really helping build our community - let me know. There are plenty of opportunities where you could make a difference.

Fashion : Let's face it. . . I'm a girl and I love to dress like one. But get to know me and you will also discover that my bib overalls are my favorite 'DIY warrior' uniform. If there is a chance to dig, paint, stain, fix or build - I am there!

Social Media : I do not claim to be an expert at anything except my own opinion. Over the years social media has become a daily part of my life and business. I love to inspire people who see social media as pointless and something they should hire someone else to do, if they do it at all, to do for themselves. It *is social media after all and no one knows your brand better than you do. I want to teach you (your staff) how to - I don't want do it for you.

Do you write reviews of products?

My thoughts are my own. If I positively endorse a product or place it's because I like it . . . I will always tell you when I write a post if I have been given the 'widget' to write about it.

I have received lot's of requests for me to review 'widgets' . . . and for quite some time I have declined these offers . . . that is until recently.

As Elizabeth Taylor once said "If someone's dumb enough to offer me a million dollars to make a picture, I'm certainly not dumb enough to turn it down."

So if you really want to send me something for free to have me review it on my blog - have at it. . . but I warn you that I have to remain honest in my review and share my personal opinion.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

This was something a friend gave me years ago. . . I look at this every day.
